Palatinate winery Anselmann delivers for the tenth time as exclusive wine supplier to the German House in Paris 2024

When the 2024 Olympic Games begin in Paris this Friday, 26 July, German athletes and numerous fans will be joined by fine wines from the Palatinate in the French capital:

The Anselmann vineyard from Edesheim, exhibitor at EUROVINO, is the exclusive supplier to the German House in Paris. Since 2000, Anselmann has been supplying the German houses in the Olympic cities with wine.

Thus, during the Olympics from 26 July and the Paralympics from 28 August, the German House will be the place to celebrate both the small and the big successes with Palatinate Riesling, Pinot Blanc or Muscatel. Among other things, the German House serves as a meeting place for German athletes. The team led by owner Ralf Anselmann will be supplying a total of six varieties to the German House, which is based during the Games in Paris in the Stade Jean Bouin, a rugby and football stadium. The Team Germany Fan Zone is also located on the pitch of the Stade Jean Bouin, which will be a meeting point for German and international fans for 17 days and which will offer a varied programme including medal celebrations, public viewing and a sports area. In this area, Anselmann is also represented with five types of wine, including a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Pinot Gris, and can thus present its portfolio to visitors from all over the world.

‘We are very proud of being part of the Games in Paris with our products in the German House and the Team Germany Fan Zone. This means that every wine lover can bring a piece of the Olympics into their glass at home - also visible on our labels, which feature the Team D-logo and which are available at the vineyard or from retailers,’ explains owner Ralf Anselmann.

In March 2024, Anselmann had already presented the wines for the German House 2024 at the EUROVINO. In 2025, he will be exhibiting again at the trade fair for wine in Karlsruhe.

About the vineyard Werner Anselmann

The Anselmann family winery in Edesheim in the southern Palatinate has a vineyard area of around 150 hectares and is now run by siblings Ralf and Ruth Anselmann. The family itself have been associated with viniculture for centuries.

The vineyards are cultivated by qualified personnel with a lot of manual labour in a natural and sustainable way. Hand-picking is still very important. Every year, a team of around 30 people harvest the grapes by hand in most of Anselmann's vineyards. The fully ripe grapes are treated gently and with the help of the latest technology so that the typical varietal flavours are preserved. Ralf Anselmann, a qualified agricultural engineer, attaches great importance to the authenticity of his wines and sparkling wines. This is why bottling and sparkling are carried out entirely in-house. The result are high-quality wines of an international standard.
